A/N: Hello! I...don't know why I wrote this drabble but why not, huh? I hope I'm not too much OOC. English isn't my native language but I try my best to fix mistake. I hope you'll enjoy it :) (Also, I put it in "Romance", but I'm sure it could be in another genre, but I didn't know which one...)
Disclaimer: Spirited Away doesn't belong to me.
He hadn't wanted to release this hand. This hand was so precious for him…But he had let her go, with a promise. A promise to meet Chihiro again. He hadn't known how and when, but they would meet once again. They had to meet again no matter what! But when he had been able to come in the Human World, it was too late. He had never found Chihiro but on a grave with her name. If he had been able to cry, he would have done it. But, in another side, it meant that she was in the Spirit World.
Time passed and even with a lot of research, he never found her. He felt despair and he came back at the Bathhouse. There, he continued his life like nothing had happened. And every day he woke up, ignoring the pain in his heart and the thought that he would never be able to see the girl. Perhaps that by dying, she had totally forgotten about him? He didn't want to think about it, because it meant that he would be the only one to remember. And it was hurting.
But when hope seemed lost, it happened. It was one morning, some months after he gave up his researches. Someone came waking him up, and like every days, he opened his eyes, ignoring the pain. He knew that he had to move on, but it was so difficult…And he was so afraid to forget her that he didn't want to move on. When he totally woke up, he left the room and joined the Bathhouse employees who were whispering between them. Haku frowned, wondering what happened until Lin came close of him and said with a big smile:
"We have a special guest today!"
"A special guest?" He repeated. Was it the reason of the agitation?
"Yep. Go see by yourself."
For the second time of the day, he sighed and moved forwards the entrance, but like there was nobody and that Lin made waves to go further, he went out the Bathhouse.
And then, his eyes opened wide: in front of him, standing on the bridge, was a little girl that he knew very well. At first, he thought that it was an illusion, a bad joke from Lin, but then, she smiled and told it:
"Haku…"
When he heard his name coming from her mouth, he felt alive. He thought that he would never be able to see her, and here she was, smiling kindly to him, as she had always done.
"Chihiro, you…You didn't change at all."
It was stupid to say that; he knew very well that she could change her form, being a little girl or a grandmother if she wanted it.
"I thought that it would be easier for you to recognize me…" She said, blushing.
He came near of her and, without saying a word, he hugged her.
"I'm sorry, I was late when I came in your world."
"It's okay, we're together now."
"I missed you."
"Me too."
Around them, some spirits were looking at them, outraged: after all, Chihiro was only a common spirit and seeing her in a strong spirit's arms – a dragon one! – was just unbelievable and especially shameful. But Haku didn't care at all.
The most important people in his life was in his arms and he would never ever let her go.
