Breathe Again:

18 year old Emma slid into her brand new yellow Bug, her eyes were blurry from crying so much. How could he do this? She had told him she was pregnant and he left her. Her cheek still stung from where he had smacked her. But why was she so surprised that he had left her; that's all she ever knew. Her parents had left her when she was a baby, she had never stayed in a foster home for more than two years and the longest relationship she had ever been in had just ended after eight months. If this was going to be the pattern for the rest of her life, she sure didn't like it. She dried the tears with her sleeve and turned on the car. Pulling away from the curb she sighed, not really knowing where she was headed. She just wanted to get away from it all, mostly away from him. She started to question why she had ever stayed with him for so long, he was abusive and no good, not that she was very good herself. How was she supposed to take care of a baby? She was in and out of jail all the time and she knew that it would grow up in an unstable household with no father. But could she really give it away? She knew that life too well. She couldn't do that to her own child. But it would be its best chance for a better life, one she had only dreamt about and seen in movies. "EMMA" Mary Margret called., bringing her back to reality. "Yeah, coming." Emma smiled weekly.

She would give anything to have those years with her son back. She would give anything to see him now. How could she not, he was her son and she loved him more than anything. And even if she did hate his father for what he had done to her, and to Henry, she was grateful that he had given her Henry. Emma was filled with regret every time she looked at Henry and every time it was his birthday and she had missed it. Today Henry was turning 11... And she was missing it.

A/N: I got this idea from talking with a friend and I just decided to go with it. I know it's short but I hope you liked it. Please leave comments on what you think of it J thanks!
