The water is insultingly calm and Indieglut Lugh's tree is even more beautiful tonight than it ever has been before. But he can't even look at it, appreciate it… Let alone see it.
The white haired boy has finally fallen apart. Endrance can see it clearly when he notes the emotion scrawled across Haseo's face while he watches the other boy at the base of the tree. He's choking back the tears as his face twists awkwardly. Haseo is trying so hard not to cry, and all Endrance can do is calmly observe, never looking away from the monitor, not even to blink. It's sad, really. The Terror of Death been so strong up until this point.
Haseo collapses to his knees at the edge bank, so close to the water that the small waves crash upon his arms. Ryou's hands are shaking uncontrollably as his controller becomes sticky with sweat, and tears well up into his eyes. Small inhales turn into desperate gasps, which turn into heart-wrenching sobs. Tears streak down his crimson wave symbols, soon staining his PC's porcelain skin. All of these efforts have been for nothing, he thinks. Shino and Alkaid… They're lost ones and the only person he blames is himself. Not even Ovan. It's his entire fault, and he's done holding back the tears. Endrance looks away sadly for a moment. He doesn't even know what to say as Haseo claws at the sand in front of him, bringing a clutched fist into the air, only to slam it back down repeatedly.
A final punch to the ground before it's over. He's still crying to the ground while he continues to whimper soft "dammits," and "it's all my faults". His voice is so faint and airy. Endrance is shocked at seeing his beloved this weak, this fragile, and this broken.
He brings his head up for a moment, trying to look for Endrance; his tears are pricking at his irises and it hurts so badly, but he can't bear to close his eyes. He needs to see the face of someone whom cares, even if it is just a blurred image of pale skin and light blue hair. He's afraid that if he closes his eyes for even a moment, Endrance will be gone. The thought only worsens his condition.
He brings a hand up to his chest, and clutches it directly over his heart, trying to speak through his sobs.
"It… hurts," he says quietly, embarrassed at the way his voice cracked. He wipes his tears away, but they only come back.
And before he could say more, he notes the purple armor in front of him. He blinks curiously, and a tear rolls down his cheek as he looks up. Endrance is there, looking down to him with worry plastered over his face. He looks like he could cry too; as if he feels Haseo's emotions as if they were his own.
He flicks a few strands of his hair away from his face before kneeling down next to the other, taking a hand and wrapping his long fingers around Haseo's shoulder tightly before he lifts his free hands and cups The Terror of Death's cheek, wiping away a few stray tears with his thumb.
"…That's what hearts do," his whispers.
