16 year-old Jamie Warren has never fit in at school. Her only friend is Katrina, the one person she trusts everything with. Jamie encounters the mysterious Slender Man, and finds an odd companionship. But this unexpected solace is a double-sided blade. When Jamie's enemies start to go missing, and her only friend deserts her, who will offer aid? Of all people, why was Jamie chosen?

1. Prologue

"Marvel- what?" I asked her, furrowing my brow.

"Marble Hornets!" Katrina corrected enthusiastically. "Just look up 'entry #1' on YouTube, and then continue from there. It's awesome."

"Okay, okay," I surrendered. "Chill. I'll watch them."

"Tell me when you finish them!"

"Alright," I promised. "I will."
