You're Still Here- Faith Hill

Thought I saw you today

You were standing in the sun

Then you turned away

And I knew it couldn't be

But my heart believed

Oh it seems like there's something

Everyday

How could you be so far

Away

When you're still here

When I need you, you're not hard to find

You're still here

I can see you in my babies' eyes

And the laugh and cry

You're still here

Had a dream last night

That you came to me on silver wings and I

I flew away with you

In the painted sky

And I woke up wondering

What was real

Is it what you see and touch

Or what you feel

Cause you're still here

Oh you're everywhere we've ever been

You're still here

I heard you in a stranger's laugh

And I hung around

To hear him laugh again

Just once again

Oh

Thought I saw you today

You were standing in the sun

And you turned away

Away

"Stephanie, are you listening to me?" I shook my head and looked at my Mom. I could swear that I saw you Paul. It wasn't possible but I would have bet my life on it.

"What are you looking at?" Mom asked. She hadn't seen it. I saw you standing there, the sun glowing on you and then you walked away from me, from your daughters. I knew it wasn't possible but my heart believed. My heart wanted to believe. I saw things like this nearly every single day. You aren't as far away as everyone kept telling me.

You are still here. Whenever I need you, I can find you, it isn't hard. You're still here. I can see you in Aurora and Murphy's eyes. When they laugh and when they cry, I can see you. You're still here and you'll always be here. I know that, you made a promise to me.

Last night, I had a dream about you Paul. It was so real, you came to me on silver wings and I flew away with you. We flew through the sky and I was with you again. I got to touch you, to smell you, to feel you, to kiss you. I woke up wondering what was real. Is it what I touch and see or is it what I feel? Is anything real anymore?

I ask myself this because you are still here. Everywhere I go, I have been before with you so you are there too. You're still here with me and the girls. Just after lunch, I heard you in a stranger's laugh. I bent down to quickly tie my shoe, just to see if I could hear him laugh just once more. I did and I heard you again. I smiled and kept walking, knowing if I stayed any longer, I would get upset.

I thought I saw you today Paul. You were standing in the sun and I walked up to you. You gripped my hand and pressed your lips against mine.

"I love you and the girls Stephanie." You murmured. I smiled and then you turned away.

"Don't leave me," I said. You turned to me and smiled and then you walked away. I smiled as I heard you say,

"I'm still here."
