A/N: I believe that this story actually held a little bit of cuteness. The Lion King was always my favorite Disney movie when I was growing up, and I love to watch it every so often. I'm particularly found of the scene when Mufasa gives Simba a pouncing lessen with Zazu. So I made a Kingdom Hearts variation. Enjoy!

Pounce!
A Kingdom Hearts Drabble
"Slow…crouch low now…" Simba cautioned, creeping low as he spoke down into the tall grass of the savannah. He grinned at Sora, who was also crouched along side him. He really didn't need to worry about hiding himself; the tall grass dwarfed him by a foot, masking his presence even while he stood. But Sora obeyed, pushing himself down until his belly scraped against the warm earth.
"Slow..." Simba repeated, pressing through the grass with stealth that Sora thought only Yuffie could possess. Not that Yuffie was stealthy anyway. Together they edged towards a tall rock, where Donald and Goofy were, under the ruse of being watchdogs—watch-turtle and pelican—in case any Heartless attacked. They had willingly agreed, and now they were Sora's first unsuspecting pounce victims. When Simba had introduced the idea, Sora had all but jumped gleefully at such a fun idea.
"Alright, at the count of three…" he whispered. Sora nodded his head eagerly, the spiky brown fur on his head bouncing up and down with each bob.
"One…"
Sora tried to crouch lower, coiling his hind muscles in preparation to spring.
"Two..."
Sora's muzzle was a look of sheer—and feral—delight. He was overcome with a feeling of rightness. Him: the predator; stalking his prey, ready for the pounce at any moment. It seemed the clothes not only transformed his outwards appearance, but also gave him all the instincts of what a lion should do.
"Three!" With an almighty roar, Simba pounced out from his hiding spot—Sora in hot pursuit.
Donald and Goofy had agreed when Sora—with an odd look akin to glee on his face—had asked them to stand here and be lookout for any approaching Heartless. Even though they locked this world (the Keyhole being in the Lion's Den in Pride Rock), they still had trouble with a small amount of leftover Heartless.
After five minutes, Goofy started talking through the boredom threatening to come upon them.
"So why do ya think Sora was so happy?" Donald frowned.
"I don't know, but we have to go soon. The King is waiting for us!"
Goofy nodded. "Yep. Where do ya think he is?"
Donald shrugged. "I don't know, but I hope he's somewhere near!" he said crossly, flapping his wings to get a better view of the surrounding landscape. He opened his mouth to complain about having to sit here when no Heartless were anywhere around when he heard someone yell "Three", a bone-shaking roar, and a furry body colliding with his own. Donald went down in a mess of fur and feathers.
He groaned and looked up into the triumphant face of Sora, who was grinning happily. "I got ya!" he proclaimed joyfully.
"Sora." Donald said calmly. Sora's eyes widened in terror at Donald's only warning sign before Donald screamed out a thundaga spell that knocked Sora back onto the rock; dazed. Donald huffed and looked over at Goofy, who was equally ruffled and pulling himself from the large body of Simba.
"What was that?" Donald demanded, motioning over at the dazed Sora and the fallen turtle knight. Simba grinned and flipped a bit of his mane back from his eyes.
"Pouncing lessons."
Once again, it does have its fair amount of cuteness. I hope you all enjoyed it, and look forward to my future works.
