The doctor skidded back into the control room.

"Don't forget the chicken" he yelled excitedly before running back out of the open doors of the TARDIS, leaving Amy and Rory standing at the console, bewildered. Amy grinned at her Rory before streaking out the open door - empty handed of course.

"Yeah, that's right. Leave the nurse, the practical one, to do all the hard work" Rory muttered. Somewhere down a corridor off the control room, something started beeping loudly and insistently. Cautiously Rory followed the sound. You knew what you could come across in the TARDIS. He and Amy still swear they found a patch of quicksand one night when they were trying to find their room. The Doctor just grinned and tapped the console saying "Wanted some alone time do ya sexy" when they told him the next morning. Rounding a corner Rory saw what was emitting the loud beeping noise. None other than an egg timer, perched on top of an old aga. Opening the doors of the aga with a pair of old oven mitts sporting, of course, the union jack, Rory spied the elusive chicken.

Amy spun around in a daze. This was definitely something new. The Doctor was struggling to lay a red and white chequered picnic rug on the blue grass. Amy spun again. Blue grass. And if that wasn't confusing enough - a green sky. The water glistening below the cliff top they were on was a bright glistening yellow or orange. Collapsing in a giggling heap on the cloth that the Doctor had finally succeeded in getting flat on the grass Amy smiled. This was perfect.

The Doctor pulled a bottle of mineral water out of one pocket. And then from another, four glasses. And then amazingly, from another he pulled an array of cutlery and plates. Rory plopped down next to Amy on the picnic rug sucking on his hand where he had inadvertently burnt it on the aga.
