Harvest moon, Celia
For the very first time
In over two years
A new guy came to town
His name was mark
A cheerful young man
Taking the farm right across from me
Now mark was a city boy
Never working a day in his life
But he was a trooper
Trying his best
And I couldn't help but like him
One day he came to my house
Picking the flowers, one by one
I must have spoke
Because he turned to me
Carrying a flower
Offering it to me
I burst out in tears
No one had done that before
And he just smiled, walking inside
Going to buy some seeds
Every day after that
Mark gave me a flower
He went all the way there, just for me
And I was touched, feeling content
I was really starting to like him
Just as I had fallen in love
Vesta came to me with some horrible news
The husband she'd picked out for me
Was coming here
To take me away forever
I ran right to mark
In the black of night
My hair all ratted and down
To beg him to help
Not wanting to leave the valley
Suddenly the door burst open
My soon to be husband was there
Mark pulled out his sickle
Holding it protectively
The man glared at me
And I feared my life
But mark kept standing strong
The man ran out the door
I turned and kissed mark
My savior and my sweet
And he replied with a blue feather
Held it out offering, sweet as could be
And I accepted, knowing he was the one
To love and care for me forever
