A/N: After the travesty ending of the real Super Bowl, me and my buddy just had to fix things. Here's what should've really happened! Enjoy guys, and maybe next year Hawks fans!
It was Super Bowl 49, one of the tightest football contests all year and a downright battle on the gridiron from the first play to now. It was second and goal at the one yard line with "Beast Mode" Marshawn Lynch in the backfield with Russell Wilson ready to call the snap.
"Playclock at 5, here's the snap.." Al Michaels commented as Russell snapped it.
Russell had the ball-hungry Pats defense confused with a draw play, handing it off to Marshawn who took off like a rocket out of backfield and tried diving over the big linemen in front of him.
"Lynch dives for it...is he over the goal...HE IS! TOUCHDOWN SEAHAWKS! BEAST MODE DOES IT AGAIN AND THE SEAHAWKS ARE GOING TO REPEAT AS CHAMPIONS OF THE NFL!" Michaels screamed.
"That was a perfect playcall for the perfect time, Marshawn Lynch ran it in there. 30-28, SEAHAWKS ARE GOING TO WIN!" His broadcast partner Cris Collinsworth exclaimed with zeal.
What happened next was a reaction fit only for a Super Bowl. A loud, booming crowd with cheers and boos, a disappointed and awestruck Patriots sideline looking across an ecstatic and gleeful Seahawks sideline. The Patriots would be going back to Boston in defeat while there was going to be a party in Seattle!
"Watch your back Beast Mode, look out, look out!" Al laughed as his teammate and expecting father Richard Sherman tackled him from behind in glee.
Marshawn went down from the tackle which was then followed by a victory-fueled dog-pile from some other Seahawks athletes and who could blame them? They were the first team in over a decade to repeat as Super Bowl champions!
The cameras panned over to coach Pete Carroll getting the classic Gatorade bath for the 2nd year in a row before refocusing on the mad pile on the field with Richard on top of Marshawn in celebration. "I did it man...no...WE did it. Together. Congratulations buddy, tell the girl I said hi. I love you brother." Marshawn happily told the Hawks explosive cornerback.
"NFL Champions, just like Super Bowl 48. Damn right we did it again y'all! WE DID IT!" the ever-vocal Richard Sherman cheered loud and clear
"This was probably the greatest Super Bowl in history, wouldn't you agree partner?" Al asked.
"I won't go that far but I'd definitetly put it in my favorites!" Cris laughed. "Patriots played a great game but the Seahawks were just a little bit better in this back and forth game, my gosh this was fun to call!" He laughed more.
"Thanks for joining us here for Super Bowl 49, stay tuned for our postgame show and the presentation of the Lombardi Trophy, good night everybody!" Al signed off with a smile.
That was when the postgame activities were shown. The MVP was actually shared by Marshawn Lynch and Chris Matthews who celebrated with his coach Pete Carroll along with Roger Goodell. Seahawks fans could enjoy their night happily knowing that their favorite team was the Super Bowl winners and NFL Champions!
The End!
