Natasha stared at the seemingly endless black night that surrounded the roof of Stark Tower. The Avengers had battled the Chitari and Loki, and had won. She should have been happy- thrilled even. She managed to do well with recruiting the others, fought a valiant fight, and helped save New York City and the earth.

But then there was what happened with Clint.

It terrified her to think that he had been taken so easily. She knew the power of the tesseract, but the pure power it took to mess with an assassin of that magnitude was staggering. It made her want to shutter, but she remained calm and expressionless as she stared into the darkness.

It didn't take her long to notice that Clint was behind her.

"Hey." He said, quietly.

"Hey." She replied turning to face him.

"You okay?" He asked, recalling her earlier comment about being compromised.

"I think I should be the one asking you that." She said.

"I'll be fine." He said a little too quickly, "It's you that I'm worried about."

"Don't worry about me. For right now, focus on getting yourself back together."

"I can't," He said, sharply. "Not without you."

"Clint, what-" She began but was cut off by his startling reply.

"Because you know me like no one else. I can't put myself back together without you."

She walked over and ran a hand down his cheek. "Who said you were going to be without me?"

"Every mission we take is another second we put ourselves in danger. I don't want to regret not saying or doing something because I didn't take the chance."

"What do you have to regret, Clint? Nothing I don't already know about."

"I regret not doing this sooner." He said and pulled her in for a kiss. Sparks flew from the night as if Thor himself were with them. When he finally pulled away, she whispered,

"I had the same regret."

Clint grinned and offered her his hand, which she took. "Come on," He said, "Let's head inside. It's getting cold."

Natasha paused to admire the New York skyline. She admired that even in the darkest times there was always light. The light of the stars and the city lights made her appreciate the view even more. She headed downstairs with Clint, still thinking about the light she found on the rooftop.
