My other short story about Snape and Lily. I was bored so I took the time to write this.
"Look at me..." Severus couldn't stand the pain anymore.
The green eyes looked at him, almost sorrowfully. Severus stared into those eyes, Lily's eyes.
Suddenly, the pain stopped.
Severus opened his eyes. He was standing on a white surface, neither hot nor cold, only plain white nothingness. He was not where Harry had watched him, where Voldemort had killed him.
Severus looked around. A familiar flash of red hair cut through the whiteness. "Lily?" Severus was not quite sure if he believed what he saw.
"Sev!" Lily rushed toward him, beaming brightly. "Sev, I've missed you!"
Severus took in her appearance greedily. "I've missed you too." He immediately regretted it. What if it's a trap? he thought. It all seemed too good to be true.
Lily sat next to him still smiling. Her eyes lit up. "You haven't changed at all," she observed, her sweet tinkling voice ringing in his ears.
Severus loved her sudden appearance. There still was a twing of doubt. "What about Potter?"
Lily frowned. "You really have to worry about Potter right now?" she remarked. "What about him?"
Severus was puzzled. "You married him-"
Lily cut him off. "What do you mean? Are you okay, Sev?" Her worried emerald eyes wavered over the pale face.
Severus couldn't bring himself to answer. If Lily didn't marry Potter, then what happened?
"Sev! Are you okay?" Lily was no longer next to him. Everything had gone dark.
Severus' eyes refocused. The adult Lily was standing over him, green eyes concerned.
"What? Oh yeah... I'm all right," he said. It was an obvious lie, though Lily didn't seem to notice. Everything was very confusing at the moment.
"Okay, I made muffins downstairs so in case you want them..." Lily trailed off.
Severus didn't care. He didn't even notice Lily leave. He surveyed his surroundings. It seemed that he was in a bedroom of a flat, living with Lily, apparently not dead. He made his way down the stairs groggily.
Lily smiled a true smile of love. "Morning, sleepyhead," she teased.
"Where's Potter?" he said, a little bleakly.
Lily blinked. "What's with you and Potter now? You do realize that I married you alright?"
Severus smirked half-heartedly. "Yeah. Quit it with the jokes now. Where exactly am I?"
Lily looked even more confused. "Have you been having nightmares again? Potter is no longer in my heart. You've replaced him long ago."
Severus frowned. "What about Harry?"
"Who's Harry? Sev, whatever you are thinking about, I'm sure is just a dream. It's as plain as the nose on your face and for you that's saying a lot."
Severus smiled. He loved being teased by Lily; she teased out of love. She had answered all the questioned that had formed in his mind when he awoke. Clearly, his previous life and his short time in heaven was, in fact, just a dream.
Lily stroked his cheek, satisfied. "You're alright now, right?" she asked tenderly.
In response, Severus brought his mouth to hers, staying that way for a long time.
Okay, so here's a brief explanation in case anyone's confused. Snape wakes up in heaven first and sees Lily. Then he really wakes up and finds that it's all a dream. It's really that simple. Just very detailed. Review please!
