Chapter 1
Hinata's Point Of View
A/N: This is my first Naruto fanfiction, so bleh. This is Hinata X Naruto, because I support it. This is also a one shot. And sorry if their names are spelt wrong, my subtitles are weird.
I am sitting on a bench, my hands on either side of me, clenching the furnished wood. I hear rushing water behind me as I sit quietly. Everybody around me is laughing and messing with each other. I see Kiba, playing fetch with Akamaru. Rock Lee is talking with Sasuke, Sasuke doesn't seem interested, but he's listening. TenTen is over there too, smacking Rock Lee every now and then. I smile a little.
It seems we're friends now. Well, not me, I feel a bit excluded, which is why I am sitting away from them all. I do feel a bit comfortable around them though, just no accepted. Shikamaru walks past me to go over to see what Rock Lee is talking about, and hisses a bothersome even though he seems interested. Ino is talking to Sakura, they're laughing. Temara is nearby, not paying attention to what the other two girls are giggling about. Chino is eating, again.
I don't know if I can consider these people my friends. Besides really Shido and Kiba. I haven't seen Naruto yet, at all speaking of which. Naruto, isn't really my friend. He doesn't notice me alot but when he does, it's more then I deserve.
I try my hardest at everything, I try to win, I try to smile and I try to be my best. I really do. But I just can't seem to let people accept me. I want to be talking to Sakura and Ino. I want to be listening to what Rock Lee is rambling about and laughing. I want to be able to spar with Temara or TenTen. I want to be able to play with Akamaru and Kiba. But for some reason, I can't.
But the thing I want most, is to be able to talk to Naruto. But, like I said, I can't. Then, Naruto starts walking this way. Everybody on the bridge waves at him. He smiles his big smile and continues to walk. He says something to Sasuke and looks at me. Sasuke glances at me, I look away. They're talking about me. Rock Lee puts a thumbs up at Naruto as I look through the corner of my eye. He starts back to walk over to me, everybody is watching it seems. I try to pretend nothing is going on. I put my hands on my knees and turn away from everybody as best as the bench allows me to.
" Hinata?" Naruto asks. I look up at him and he smiles at me.
" Yes?" I whisper, shaking a little bit, I'm nervous. Nervous like crazy. I should fall apart from shakiing so much.
" Want to go get some ramen with me?" He asks, a little shaking in his voice. I look over at Sasuke and Rock Lee. TenTen waves. Then to Kiba, who smiles at me and nods. Then to Sakura and Ino. They wave at me too. I look back at Naruto.
" Alright." I whisper. I stand up and we walk past everybody, Naruto is keeping his head up high, not embarassed at all. But I am houched over, blushing. Why can't I be more like him? Why can't I show people I am strong?
" I like you Hinata. You're really strong." He says, as if he was reading my mind.
" Thank you." I smile. His hand grabs mine and I smile again.
Maybe I can be strong.
