Boom
SUMMARY: It takes a lot to frighten Antonio. He's survived wars and droughts, a civil war and emotional trauma. Though, maybe that's exactly what scares him so much... Spamano/RomaSpa\Romain
"Lovi!" Antonio shouted again, holding tightly onto the Italian's frame. It was nothing much, a few flashes of lightning here and there to dot the night sky. But that wasn't what frightening the Spaniard so much.
It was almost comical, really. Antonio would listen to the sound of the rain falling, sometimes even going outside to lay in it's cold wake. But sure enough, even as his eyes lit up whenever he saw the crackles of electricity, it was the ground shaking thunder which followed that scared him the most.
It took Lovino a while to figure out it wasn't the usual thunder either. He had seen Toni manage storms by himself before, still working around the house even as the sky rumbled overhead. No, it was only when he was woken by the noises in the dead of night, with no one there beside him. When the house would literally rattle from the noise, making the Italian wonder if the old frame could stand up to a tornado or earthquake- or some shit that could really hurt someone!
Toni relaxed slightly, looking outside again to watch for more lightning. Lovino would never say it, but he was glad the brunette actually relied on him for something- that he was allowed to see past the usual happy face Antonio always wore. They watched together as another bolt split the sky, and Lovi was quick to wrap his arms back around his love, wanting to shelter him from his own fear.
"Shh, stronzo, don't worry. It's not going to hurt you," his voice was soft and deep, a hand running up and down the Spaniard's back. Antonio mumbled something about canons and explosions and war, but it was too shaky to be comprehensible. Lovino remained curled around him, not daring to move until Toni finally fell asleep. Even then, he was content with resting in that position until the storm had moved, taking away it's harsh sound and blinding lights.
Something cute to show that yes, even Spain gets scared.
*stronzo - asshole
