Another one that's drawn a tad bit from personal experience, and a little on things I wished I'd said and done. Rose and Scorpius are in their 7th year in this. Please enjoy, and remember, I OWN NOTHING!
Rose was nervous. She was very nervous. She had been out on the lake, absentmindedly skating around, when one Scorpius Malfoy and a group of his friends had come on to the ice. She had been mostly ignoring them, occasionally glancing over when a particularly loud roar of laughter had come up, but suddenly, she was paying attention. Scorpius, and one or two of the others, were skating backwards. How did they do that? She tried a little bit for herself before returning to skating as she had been. Now, however, she took a peek at the other group more often.
A few hours later, when dinner rolled around, Rose mustered up her courage and caught up to the larger group walking a little bit ahead of her. Merlin he's attractive up close Rose thought to herself, but before she could think herself out of it, she cleared her throat a bit and spoke up.
"Hey. I noticed you skating backwards before, and, ummm, I was wondering how you did it." She kept her eyes mostly on Scorpius, but glanced around at the others now and again so as to not seem creepy or odd. Before he could answer, however, another voice jumped in.
"Don't ask him, ask me!" One of the girls piped up. "I'm much better at it!"
"Are not!" Scorpius retorted before turning to Rose. "What do you think, I'm sure you were watching us."
Rose blushed a bit "I wasn't watching, I was...noticing." She replied. "So how do you do it?" Rose added quickly, hoping to shift the attention back off of herself. By this point, they were in the castle, at about the point where they needed to split up so the Slytherins could go to the dungeons and she to Gryffindor tower.
"Lots of pressure on the forward inside of the blade. And tons of practice, I only just got it myself!" Scorpius advised, just before they parted.
"Thanks!" she called back.
