Yakumo Yukari opened her eyes, sensing a problem with the Great Hakuriel Barrier. It was in the deep of the night in Gensokyo, and something felt wrong. She dragged her lethargic self to the Barrier, and pulled out a portion of It to hear what It had to say. The Barrier Fragment sparked and fizzled with energy, meaningless to most, but Yukari understood it all. Someone or something was breaking through the Barrier, not just from one direction but from numerous strategic locations, targeting at powerful residences. It could only hold for about 3 minutes before the first breach. Perhaps a thousand years ago she would have been too stunned to even register the information, but now she smiled, all her lethargy gone. It's about time something interesting happens.
Meanwhile, in another universe, the Gray Mann robots were being stolen and reprogrammed, one warehouse after another.
Dong~Dong~Dong~, went the Barrier Breakdown Bell, resounding over the entire Land of Illusions. Yukari had been worried that she would never use it.
At the Hakuriel shrine, where the outside world could enter without bypassing the Barrier, Reimu was greeted by the first wave: a portal opened outside the shrine's main entrance and out came a horde of fully-armoured… things, with glowing blue eyes, running at ridiculously high speeds, and carrying devices which seem to have 2 large holes at the front. Unbeknownst to her, they were Scout bots, and the ones she was seeing was only the first wave.
To her surprise, those devices did not shoot highly visible projectiles, but invisible projectiles which instantaneously teleported to her (actually hitscan bullets).
"Good thing they don't do much," thought the shrine maiden. "If they were regular danmaku, I'd be dead already."
Next came the Pyro bots. This time, their airblasts could reflect Reimu's danmaku, allowing most of them to remain unharmed and get uncomfortably close to her. She used her spellcard before they could reach her.
Then came the Conch Soldier and Quick-Fix Medic Combos. No matter how much damage she was pouring on them, they didn't seem to stop. They didn't even bother dodging! New portals opened up from the sides of the shrine, sending in a wave of Demomen. Reimu couldn't take the barrage of rockets and grenades and was pushed all the way back to the Youkai Forest, forcing her to use her second spellcard, the entire Hakuriel Shrine completely demolished in the process. She had a feeling that this was only the beginning of the invading forces, and headed to Marisa's dwelling for help.
