There was no time to lose.
The Bothans, nameless to protect each other and their families, hurriedly copied the plans to the Death Star from the Imperial datacube to a special encrypted drive. The 'cube had to be back in its slot before the next patrol came through, and there wasn't a second to waste.
The light from the terminal switched from red to green, and the two operatives parted ways.
Back home, the operative hides the drive in a pile in his office. In two weeks, he would send it to the Alliance.

"Many Bothans died retrieving this information." said Mon Mothma, and she inserted the drive into the holoviewer.
But there wasn't a Death Star floating above their heads, there was a gallery. Teddy bears, dolls, pictures of currently popular albums, what was all this?
Mothma looked as shocked as everyone else, apparently she hadn't bothered to check the data before showing it to everyone. So much for their grand attack.

A teenage Bothan girl starts up her personal terminal to talk with her friends, she gets an alert that her drive is full. A couple clicks show a schematic for some boys fantasy.
I'll have to get my brother for this. She thought, as she deleted the silly design. Everyone knew you couldn't build a ship that big anyway, and who would name something like that a 'Death Star' anyway?
Inspired by a failure to double check I had backed up my work before wiping my work drive. Oops...
