A Light in the Dark-Prologue

A lone Armaldo walks to the centre of Pallet Town. It then pushes a button on a small, silver, watch-like communication device that's attached to its left claw.

'Ring...Ring...Beep!' sounds the device, before the Armaldo starts speaking.

"James here. I'm in Pallet Town's centre; codename Time Square. Awaiting status reports from you all" the Armaldo's deep voice speaks into the comm. device.

Over the next minute, many voices reply; each one separated by the noises 'Beep! Beep! Tschh...'

An explosion is heard from the comm. device's speaker, before a Charmander yells "This is Picaro! I'm in the Bioweaponry Testing Facility! Searching for Time Furnace! I'm under attack by scientists!"

'Beep! Beep! Tschh...'

"This is NecoJi. I'm at Eversnow. Brrr...It's an icebox here!" says a deep-voiced Latios, as he flew towards the peak of a snow-covered mountain. The entrance to a massive Bioweaponry Testing Facility was at the peak.

'Beep! Beep! Tschh...'

"This is Chron. I'm at Woodstone. What do I do now?" asks a Shaymin Sky Forme, as he stood in front of a large forest, named Millennium Forest.

'Beep! Beep! Tschh...'

"Donald here. In Prof. Oak's lab; codename Forge of Hours. Searching for info on the Bioweaponry Facility" says a Quilava, who's typing on a computer.

'Beep! Beep! Tschh...'

"Elmer here! Waiting outside Woodstone, a.k.a. Millennium Forest, at Warp Room, a.k.a the teleporting point!" says a Gallade, who's standing on the opposite side of the large forest.

'Beep! Beep! Tschh...'

"...Ugh...Katherine here...Been captured...Being held at Steelworks...a.k.a. Containment/Prisoner Room...don't come help...should be...able...escape...Oh no...Here he...comes...help!" a Latias yells, before the comm. line to Katherine suddenly cuts.

The sound of static seems to echo through James's device, as panic instantly runs through his body.

All is quiet, until NecoJi's voice yells through the comm. line fearfully, saying "Katherine? Kat! Are you there?! They took you to Steelworks?! Who did?!...Answer me!"

'Beep! Beep! Tschh...'

"Sigh...There's nothing we can do, without putting the rest of you in danger. We'll have to wait, just in case Katherine's still alive...If neither Picaro or Katherine escapes the Bioweaponry Testing Facility within 24 hours, I want you to destroy the facility!" James, the Armaldo, says.

'Beep! Beep! Tschh...'

"What?! We can't leave Katherine! Let me go in there! I'll save her!" NecoJi, the Latios, says.

'Beep! Beep! Tschh...'

"No. I don't want anyone else's lives to be at risk. Even though you love her, NecoJi, if she's not out of there in 24 hours, the demolition plan will proceed!" James says.

'Beep! Beep! Tschh...'

"But..."

'Beep! Beep! Tschh...'

"That's an order, NecoJi! Enough have died! I don't want you to risk your own life, just to save Katherine and no one else!" James yelled into the comm. device.

'Beep! Beep! Tschh...'

"...Fine...But Picaro had better rescue her...Or else..." NecoJi muttered sadly.

'Beep! Beep! Tschh...'

Another explosion, before Picaro, the Charmander, yells sarcastically "Gee, thanks for threatening me NecoJi!"

'Beep! Beep! Tschh...'

"Sigh...This is James, signing out for now. Good luck Pokémon! I hope you'll be able to save those Pokémon prisoners in Bioweaponry Research Facility 49!" James says, before pressing a button that switches off his silver, watch-like communication device.

He then looks towards the sky, and hopes that the plan to rescue the tortured Pokémon at Facility 49 will work with no Pokémon deaths...
