Third POV

"Yo," Itsuki said, walking onto the roof of the school. "Isshin-san was upset. Saying you're a slacker."

"...," Kaname said nothing, only looking back at his best friend disinterestly.

"Just kidding," Itsuki sighed, flopping down to sit next to Kaname. "You were the last thing on his mind."

"Itsuki...," Kaname growled, getting annoyed.

"Look... You don't ahve to be so harsh to Kirihara. You guys used to be good friends, right?" Itsuki said, twirling his fingers while using his power lightly to make swirls of wind. "Don't forget, I've got powers too. I can imagine what happened between you two."

Kaname told his story in remembrence," That day... When I regained consciousness, I realized I was standing in a pool of blood, alone." He took a deep breath to calm his nerves. "I was dazed. I had no idea what happened. I was... Just... Terrified and... I didn't know what to do." His expression now grim and skin much paler. "It was later on that I started to remember... Terrible sensations. I could feel myself slicing flesh. Taking others' lives with my own two hands. I heard myself laughing and I felt a sick satisfaction at the evil coursing through my body." His face grew grave as he looked at the hands that was stained with blood before. "I felt demonic. It was like I had lost all my humanity. My parents... what if I was the one who... Perhaps it was their blood that I had on my hands."

"Kaname...," Ituski interrupted, trying to draw him out of his depression.

"You don't get it! I could've killed you too," Kaname yelled, clenching his hands into a fist feeling guilty, trying to push him away.

"But you didn't!" Itsuki pointed out, getting through to Kaname. "I'm still alive, right?" Itsuki smiled with a gentle face now.

Kaname looked at him with unreadable eyes before looking away. "Itsuki... your power... What does it do for you? I'm sure it doesn't bring peace." Itsuki was standing and looking at Kaname with a thoughtful look.

"Well, I see it like htis.. This power... Is to protect. Protect the... People I care about," he said, trying to put it into words, gazing away to the sun setting sky. "The next time you feel darkness, I'll be here. I'm not saying I'll be here to heal your wounds, but we're friends.. We'll help you get through the darkness... I think."

Kaname had a quiet happy expression. "Friends...," he whispered softly, liking the feeling but feeling it was a bit off.

(BREAKS OFF VOLUME ONE NOW!)

"Thanks, Itsuki," Kaname smiled. "But are we more?" He asked, looked away, smiled gone, and not wanting to be rejected.

Itsuki looked completely shocked before smiling. "We'll always be so much more if you want us to be," he confessed.

"Then we are," Kaname smiled, truly feeling happy for once. "Aishiteru, Itsuki."

Itsuki raised an eyebrow in question before pouncing Kaname and attaching them together firmly by the lips, only to be broken off after awhile.

"Oi... I don't want to rush things," Kaname said. "Though I would like to make out with you right now." Kaname grinned widely, letting Itsuki attach them together again.

"I love byou too, Kaname," Itsuki whispered back, kissing him again and both not wanting time to move forward anymore.
