Scene - Lanie and Beckett at a bar after the case is wrapped up in "Flowers For Your Grave."
"Just sayin you haven't had a date in ages. Get your groove going girl. That man is definitely hot, and he's very interested."
"Lanie, he's as annoying as a nine year old on a sugar rush. He doesn't listen. He's a self absorbed, egotistical, jackass."
"And you wouldn't mind a piece of him. You can't stand it that he's under your skin and you want him."
"Lanie! I have more self respect. Can you believe he offered to be my conquest?"
"And you walked away from that? Girl, what you have is no life and an empty bed. A little lipstick wouldn't hurt either in getting you both."
"I can't believe you think I need to get laid."
"Well, don't you? I bet you can't even remember the last time you..."
"OMG! Since when is my love life under such scrutiny?"
"Your love life? Honey, what I have is a love life. What you have...Well, my grandma gets more action than you do."
With that Lanie turned and sauntered onto the small dance floor.
Beckett's mind wandered to the author. He was sexy and had a delectable ass. The rough stubble on his face was a turn on, but he was the kind of man that broke hearts and hers had been broken enough.
