Massie Block: Ready to start 7th grade with a bang. Plus there's this guy she has her eye on. Cam! She's the most popular girl at the school so he must like her, right? They've been talking for a while but lately he's been asking about the new girl.
Claire Lyons: Moved to Westchester to live with her aunt after both of her parents died in a car crash. No brother either. Claire wants nothing to do with Massie and her bratty friends. She feels very alone until she meets Layne. They become close and Claire finally feels happy again. She runs into Cam on her way home from school one day and he starts to like her. But she doesn't like him back.
