The morning the light first shone
The Twenty Four made our world home
With mortal love that pledged its power
And Immortal strength that began the hour.
Two lovers, one heart as man and wife
Chose death to bring Jorden to life.
Their friends to us pledged their lives
And became Kings to let our new world rise.
Twenty-four lands were theirs to rule,
Their law to love and let it rule.
The Immortals thus were Unalone
And lived in the seedling countries sown.
The world thee sees through thy eyes
Was made to shelter thee
But to make it last it asks our Crowns a fee.
All 24 kings must find wives
Else all forfeit their own lives.
A lifetime each to find one love,
One love for life and two lives for love.
To keep the bond two soul-mates left
At least 48 Royals must commit the theft
Of a heart that beats for the rogue alone
And hands itself to him-for his own.
