Fletcher had known her for as long as he could remember. He was in year 10 now, and he kind of...sort of...had a crush on her. He didn't want to end their friendship. What was left of it. Elle had been crushing on Matthew Jones since...well...forever. He knew this because he was the first person she would ever confine in. Even if he was a boy...

But the thing is, fletcher had a secret. A very dark secret. So dark, that even Elle didn't know. He wished he was normal. But he wasn't, for he was an alien. The exact species of life form that was destined to destroy the galaxy of the Milky Way. But he hated it. He didn't want to be a part of it all. So that was how he ended up here. On earth. Of course, he couldn't remember how he got to this strange planet, or who could bear to bring him up, but all he knew was that he escaped and got to safety. What had happened since then was a whole lot of odd looks, and a whole lot of falling over in public.

The training centre was stuffy and warm. Not the best place, but at least it didn't attract much attention, apart from the few people who needed to be there. The tall, sleek figure of Katrini stood in the doorway, waiting for Michello to hurry up so they can get going before sunrise. As Michello looked at her, his heart fluttered. It had been doing this for who knows how long, as he had had a crush on her since they met, 4 years ago, when Katrini was 11 & he was 12. If he thought she was beautiful then, he had known nothing of what her beauty would be in 4 years' time. Because she WAS beautiful, you know. But Michello thought that Katrini hated him, and that the only reason she worked with him was because she has to. And this was true. Katrini had never been attracted to Michello, and it didn't even pass her mind that he was wondering if there could ever be anything 'romantic' between them. Even if Katrini did like him, he would have competition. Katrini didn't go to school, but this still left her with countless opportunities for both human and alien boys to chat her up! However, she was too busy with her training to get 'distracted' as she calls it. Neither Katrini nor Michello went to school, but they had been taught how to read and write in both this world's language and their own. Katrini didn't have any parents, but it still didn't dampen her spirits for saving the universe, which she was planning to do!

"Ready to go?" Katrini asked Michello.

"sure." he replied.

"And this means...?"

"It means I'm ready to go, okay?"

"Fine, fine, don't lose your zyborg!" (This was a term used on their old planet!)

"Ha ha ha. Let's go!" Michello finished.

As they got to the car, their master was waiting for them.

"Did you guys have fun chucking things at walls?" he asked, sarcastically.

"Ha ha yeah, we had a bash" Katrini replied in the same tone.

"AND we had to wait overtime because SOMEONE forgot to de-flicker the immobiliser."

"Well how was I supposed to know that Penelopana left it on?!"

Michello said, defending himself.

"Ok, settle down now, for you have a big day tomorrow, don't you? What with your final junior meeting in the morning, then you have your first combat skills Senior Edition in the afternoon, Michello! So let's do get a good night's sleep, and NO PUTTING ANYTHING IN HIS DRINK, KATRINI!"

"Yes master." giggled Katrini.

After they arrived at the tower blocks, Katrini and Michello said goodbye to their master, then headed back to their flat. They shared a flat, it had 3 bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms, and a kitchen. They shared one because, if they were called upon in an emergency, they could get there together, instead of getting there at different times, so that the reply was immediate and reliable. And it looked good.
