"So, do Princeton chicks dig the curls?"

Don pulled at one of Charlie's new ringlets, letting it bounce back into shape.

They'd been glad to see each other after spending their first year apart, both away at college, but Don had quickly taken to teasing Charlie about letting his hair grow out.

"Who knows?" Charlie said, batting Don's hand away. "Who cares?"

"Aww..." Don mocked. "So even the seventeen year olds aren't interested? I mean you're fourteen now, surely those curls must be getting you some attention from girls."

Charlie rolled his eyes. "Yeah, they think they're cute. Happy?"

Don just smirked and ruffled Charlie's hair, much to his annoyance.

"Keep the curls," Don told him. "I know you don't give a shit about any advice I give you, but take it this time."

"Why should I listen to you? You've never worn your hair long."

"Fine, don't listen to me. I'm sure it doesn't matter what Linda said at the supermarket or Georgia said at the park either."

Charlie perked up. "They were talking about me?"

"Yeah," Don said, trying to sound casual about it, hiding a tiny smile. "They both said you looked cute in the curls."

"They did?" Charlie asked, his hand unconsciously going to his hair.

"Yeah," Don replied. "Just watch, Charlie. Once you hit your twenties you'll be a regular lady killer."

"Charlie Eppes - sex symbol..." Charlie mused. "Ha! Like that would ever happen..."
