After JJ´s had left without telling Rossi how she felt he had made himself a promise that as new year´s resolution he would tell Penelope his feelings for her, she deserved to know it.
He had been the only one to not congratulate her about her engagement with Lynch because it hurt to much to see her with him.
After two glass of whiskey he took his car and went to see her, he could hear the midnight chimes he knew he was close, he parked his car and saw her through the window, she was laughing, they were dancing, they were happy.
He knocked the door.
"hey Der something wrong? Do we have a case and I didn´t hear my phone?"
"no baby girl I just wanted to see you"
"would you like to come in, Kevin and I are getting ready to see the gang"
"no, I need to get to my apartment to pick some things"
But Penelope wasn´t his best friend for nothing
"are you OK Der?"
"yeah sweetness, see you guys later"
When she was about to close her door, Penelope heard
"does he makes you happy princess?"
The way her eyes glowed when she though on the "he" was all the answer he need it.
"I´m happy for you baby girl"
And the last midnight chimes ring he told her.
"happy new year´s princess"
And left.
