"Alice, darlin', I'm just nipping to the shop. I'll be back in a second." He shouted to me before leaving me. I was in the kitchen so I just replied with a mere OK. Then I heard the door slam. Jasper was only going to the shop no harm could come to him there.

After that it all happened so quickly. Well not straight away, but you know what I mean. Jasper had been away for a few hours now, this was strange because the shop was only around the corner and it certainly did not take over half an hour to get there. Stupidly, I trusted Jasper would be home in the next few minutes. But then I had the phone call. It was Jasper's dad, Carlisle. This was strange because he was a full time working Doctor with no time to just stop and have a little over-the-phone chat!

"Alice, is that you?"

"Yes"

"Could I possibly meet you at FRHSI" That meant Forks' Royal Hospital for Severe Injuries

" What? Who's hurt? It's not Jasper is it? Oh god! What's happened?" Panic started to rise in my voice

" Just meet me at the hospital, you er... might want to bring some overnight clothes for yourself and Jasper. You might be staying while" He hung up. It was Jasper who was lay there in a hospital bed. I couldn't believe it. All he did was leave for a bottle of milk. I didn't even know what had happened to him. Even worse, Carlisle hadn't even reassured me everything was going to be all right, or that I shouldn't be worried. I had all the right to be worried because later that night the worst thing ever imaginable was going to happen to me. I was going to be told that my fiancé Jasper Whitlock had been pronounced dead.

He had been crushed in between a severe car crash involving seven cars. The doctors were surprised he wasn't announced Dead on Scene. But he said to me;

"Alice, I'm going to leave you now but I had the strength to keep myself to say... I Love..." at that precise moment the heart monitor started beeping. He had stopped breathing. He kissed my hand softly and whispered the word " you"
