Rivendell

I wrote this poem for English class, to a dictated form that was pretty much fill in the blanks, although I did change some things around...just thought I'd see what everybody else thought of it! R&R! Constructive criticism PLEASE!!!!!!!

Rivendell

House of Wisdom for the world,

Beautiful, tranquil, graceful,

City of the Last Homely House.

They tell me you are magical and I believe them, for I have heard your songs and understood, though I know no Elvish.

They tell me you are fantasy and I reply: I have seen the Elves leaping through the branches of my mind.

And they tell me you are arrogant and I reply: I have seen your arrows spear a single leaf that is, to me, invisible.

And having answered so I turn once more to those who sneer at this my city, and say to them:

Come and show me another city where evil dares not come, and trembles at the mention of its name,

Wondrous as a delicate flower hidden beneath a fallen log, peaceful as a pristine mountain stream trickling over moss-covered rocks.

Enchanting,

Uplifting,

Sheltering,

Healing, sustaining, revitalizing.

Proud to be House of Wisdom for the world,

Beautiful, tranquil, graceful,

City of the Last Homely House.
