Spring

I went to Dartmoor today and was inspired :) Sorry if it's cheesy. Enjoy!

They go to Devon together, just the four of them. Dan starts writing the first of many stories about Blair. They go to beaches and Serena paddles and splashes in the sea and, after a lot of pleading and puppy dog eyes, convinces Nate to swim with her. It's freezing and he vows never to do it again.

It's a sunny April day when they go to the moor. They have a picnic in the shade of the bright, moss-covered trees, then head down to the river and walk alongside it.

Dan collects straw and long blades of grass and whatever else he can find and gathers them together in a makeshift bouquet, which he presents to Blair with a flourish and a bow. She raises her eyebrows.

"Seriously Humphrey?"

But there's laughter in her voice and she takes it with a smile.

Meanwhile, Serena and Nate pick little yellow flowers from the gorse bushes. They smell like coconut. Nate puts one in Serena's hair and they share a kiss that tastes of happiness and Serena's fruity lip-gloss.

She scratches herself on a gorse bush and it stings and throbs, but he kisses the wound and suddenly it doesn't seem to hurt nearly as much. Or maybe she just isn't noticing the pain anymore.

They all amble along for a while longer before Nate and Serena decide to push Blair into the river.

"Why are you so obsessed with getting me wet?" she giggles, remembering another time involving a showerhead.

Dan is the next one to go in the river, and Nate and Serena are soon pulled in as well. There's a lot of splashing and squealing and laughter, and eventually they start heading back, sopping wet but content.
