Tandem

I remember the first day we met. You stopped in on the Nimbasa Amusement Park to have a quick ride on Elesa's roller coaster.

You didn't expect to see me.

It was a hot Summer day, and you were going to settle by the Ferris Wheel because you always loved to watch it.

Ever since your mother would bring you here, you said to me.

So, anyway, you brought your ice cream near the wheel.

I asked you for a battle.

So we did. You won, but I expected that, even though I am supposed to be an ace trainer.

How good is an Ace Trainer if they're afraid of hights?

So, we went into the Pokéball-shaped cart and up we went.

I knew this was a bad idea...

"Ulp...this is going higher then I expected...!"

You looked at me with concern and slid closer to me.

But higher and higher the Ferris Wheel went.

"Aw shit! White! Don't move, we'll fall! Do. Not. Move!" I hissed through my teeth, as Nimbasa got smaller and smaller above us.

"That's it, I can't handle it! W-w-will y-you h-hold my h-hand?" I whispered, blushing.

And you took my hand in yours, grasping it tightly. You stroked it with your thumb, in little circles.

And I felt better.

The more you came, the harder I fell for you.

You came every day.

"It's my birthday!" You said, excitedly.

I fake-panicked and grabbed you a flower from the bed beside the Ferris Wheel.

You blushed at the gift, and I smiled at you.

She pulled a Pokéball off her belt, tucked the flower behind her ear, and called out a Rufflet.

"Let's battle!"

I pulled out my Ducklett and we fought.

She won, obviously.

But I never was jealous.

We went on the Ferris Wheel again, and again she held my hand.

But this time, she pulled me into a hug.

I told her "When ever you have the urge to ride the Ferris Wheel with me and you just can't help yourself, come find me. We'll ride together again!"

That night, she waved me good bye.

Someone else would take my place until next year, then when Summer comes again, I'll be back.

"But for now...I'm out."
