Disclaimer: If I owned Doctor Who, I would have a TARDIS and be parked closer to the sun. Why? Because I am an absolute wimp in the cold ._.

Author's Note: Did this shortly after my last DW oneshot, but refrained from posting it for a bit. Contains some canon references and some not-canon, it was just an idea I really was itching to do -shrug-

THREE

1. relax

There's no time to relax, not when there's stupid apes that need saving.
He likes to put his feet up, in the converse shoes as always, and just watch the clouds go by.
"Maybe what I need is a vacation – my memory for Midnight's hazy, but maybe I can make it better this time!"

2. forest

Big and distracting, and there's too many places to hide – maybe that's the best place for him for now.
"I never liked forests… too many shadows."
The hairs were standing up on the back of his neck again as he tried to comfort himself, "At least there's some light."

3. car

He can't really count the amount of times he's nearly been hit by a car because he matches the night sky too closely.
He hates it when she doesn't listen to him, because if they don't go now, right now, then they're all caged like the rest of her family.
"Who needs a car when you've got horsesss?"

4. ice cream

He can't believe that he, he, the Oncoming Storm, was just guilt-tripped into buying her an ice cream.
There's a vague thought in the back of his mind on how now he's more than willing to buy her an ice cream.
He wonders if she even likes ice cream.

5. nervous

He never gets nervous, but seeing the Dalek Emperor there before him makes him rethink that statement.
He likes it when they're alone, but he doesn't like it when she's got this look in her eye that makes him look down like that.
And all he can do is smile supportively, hold her hand, and take this death with quivering hopes.

6. keys

Maybe its time to give her a key, because he's starting to dislike her company less.
But with this I'll be out of the way, not invisible but sort of like it, and his mind goes fuzzy from thinking too busily.
He considered asking a key to their new home so he could pop in for a visit, but then he remembers he's got the Sonic Screwdriver.

7. yearn

He understood what she was going through, but at least she had the chance to see him – his people were dead.
For many moments, as he stared at the white wall with the fury and despair of his people, he was sure his hearts broke.
And he wondered where he went wrong – when the storm turned harsh, old and bitter, now caged in a box.

8. knife

Well, he guesses that he'd rather be held at knife point than at gun point during this war.
"You know what knives are good for? Cutting ropes, ohhh… much like these ones right here."
He liked fruit, and knives were good for cutting fruit, and maybe he could give some to that cranky fiancé of hers as a peace offering.

9. backpack

Backpacks are for backpackers, and he's not a 'backpacker', he travels around with a big blue box – which… could be considered a backpack.
The medical student – well, 'doctor' now – well, what is she really? – truly carried a heavy backpack, he noticed.
"Wait!" he protests, following the watercolour dash of red hair, "How many bags are you bringing?"

10. remember

But Gallifrey's gone now, and all he can do is remember in silence.
There were so many faces that flashed through his mind, and he would take the time to remember them all.
And when he gets out – when he gets out – he will remember his lesson.
