I wanted to work on a minor drabble of AbelxEst. Mainly due to some interaction in /r/fireemblem involving some fanfic concepts spiraling into FanficWings. I really hope this gets some reviews, they are important as hell for a writer like me, who bases himself on what he has done wrong rather than what he has done right.

It had been so many years, his first reaction was to think that his eyes were decieving him. He was over 30 years old by then. A knight forgotten by the world, destined to live fighting for a piece of bread and die in the gutter. The only possession he still carried that had some value to him was that small picture, so he would not forget.

His second reaction was to believe he was dreaming. He often slept to forget the hunger, the pain, the thirst. And yet, this figure standing in the front of him seemed real. An angel on earth. He shrugged off the thoughts. It was impossible.

The age had done well to her. Her pink hair, cut short, was just as beautiful as it has always been. Her figure was as womanly as always, and yet it seemed she had been the same state has he had been during the last few years. Despite the hardships, she had a radiant smile in her face, and a youthful enthusiasm.

He got himself up. He couldn't call himself the Black Panther - no, that title belonged only in the country of Archanea for the former him, a knight of glory. He watched as the girl - no, it had been too long to call her that, she was a woman now - brought her pegasus into view.

He cried. He had found what he had been searching for. The woman he had promised to be faithful for the entirety of his life, and yet, had left him for her unexplained reasons. Despite that, she came back, with a welcoming smile in her face.

He got up, and hugged his wife. It had been so long. It had been so long since he had hugged, loved, lived, not survived. He was a man now, not a creature. He couldn't speak, his voice taken by his emotions in a surprisingly stunning moment. So Est opened her mouth as the two were locked into eachother for what were mere seconds but seemed like an eternity they didn't want to end.

"I said we would meet again, Abel."

The two cherished a kiss. It had been too long since they were lovers, dreamers, humans. They would not waste such an opportunity anymore.
