Dark Side Stories

Tommi was bored. Real bored. That's why her mommy made her older sister Makee play with her for a while. Makee suggested that they make up stories on the computer. So they did. They actually made a lot of stories.

Their first story was about a boy named Gon who had a pet hippo called Hisoka. Gon rode Hisoka every day until Hisoka grew old and died. By that time Gon was old too, and he died ten years later, leaving three daughters, two grandchildren and ten pounds of peanuts meant for Hisoka behind.

Their second story was about Hisoka's two pounds of peanuts. You see, Gon's three daughters never fed the two grandkids so they were forced to find food for themselves. They usually hunted possums but then their favorite kind of possum went on the endangered list so they ate wallpaper instead. When they had finished all the wallpaper in the house they moved on to the wood. When they had eaten through the wood they discovered Gon's secret stash of peanuts that were meant for Hisoka. But rats had already gotten to them and eaten eight pounds of peanuts so Gon's grandkids ate the rats then saved the remaining two pounds of peanuts for later. In the kitchen one of the grandkids dropped a peanut into his mother's radioactive cranberry sauce. It blew up, and both grandkids were sent flying into outer space. It was a good thing they had those peanuts, because they flew around in space forever.

The third story was never written, because just then Tommi and Makee's mother barged in and told Makee off for feeding Tommi what she called "nonsense." But the tirade didn't get very far because Makee dropped a peanut in the cranberry sauce and blew up the entire neighborhood. Now, sometimes, when the sky is clear and if you look hard enough, you'll see them up there, Makee and Tommi and their mother and all the neighbors, floating up in space.
