She often wondered. She had started wondering the minute that she took off of that cliffside. But she truly started wondering when she was taken into that tower.

She didn't think about it at first, but then she saw his back without a top. It was to say in the least…scarred, scars that only her people's technology could have possibly done. He didn't notice her as she stared…wondering and remembering.

She remembered how she had told her people that her military-issued mace had neutralized his magic. She wondered how hard he must've fought to keep her people away, yet how easy it must've been for him to be captured.

She wondered how he could offer her hospitality in his home after all she had done. She wondered how his wife was able to befriend her. She wondered, what was going through Inza's head when she ran her hands over the scars on his back.

She wondered, what went through his mind at the time? Does it still hurt him? Was it all her fault?

At the time she was so caught up in her own thoughts, she didn't notice that he had turned round and put on his shirt, until he began to speak.

"It's not something to dwell on. It's just a shadow of the day." She remembered he lifted her tear-stained face and gently kissed her cheek. And then he walked off.

Even now, when she wondered, when she remembered, she remembered his words when she was reminded of her betrayal.

She whispered her mantra, "It's just a shadow of the day."

A story will be dedicated to the first 3 reviewers!!! You just have to tell me what type of story you want and with which characters. Peace out!!!
