Roxas pulled onto my street and stopped in front of my house. We laughed a little more about the events of the day, and then I went to get out of his car. But the blonde stopped me before I could open the door.

"Hey Axel, can I talk to you about that poem you wrote?" he asked.

Shit. I had been afraid of this. I didn't want to talk to him about the poem I had written about him. Especially now knowing that he didn't think he felt the same way. It was just a subject I had been hoping to avoid.

"What about it?" I wondered, just going along with the topic and trying to act as calm as possible.

"Who are you talking about in the poem?"

I let out a little chuckle. "Wouldn't you like to know?"

He sighed at this. "Axel, I talked to Riku about it and, well…is it about me? Because I can't help but feel—"

"No," I lied in denial. "It's not you."

"Then who—?"

"It doesn't matter who. Besides, it's not like I have a chance with the guy it's about anyway. I already know that he doesn't like me back."

"Of course it still matters, though."

"No. It really doesn't, Roxas." I opened the door, somewhat heatedly.

"Wait," he stopped me again.

Shit. At this point it had to have been obvious to him that the poem was indeed about him. Guess I was gonna have to deal with it after all. But I still wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of confirming that he was the one I liked.

After a moment of hesitation, I calmly closed the door. "What?"

"Can we please talk this out?"

"There's nothing to talk about!" I suddenly shouted. "He's not sure if he feels the same way and that might as well mean that he doesn't!" I shrugged my shoulders. "Oh well! Que sera, sera! It is what it is!" I climbed out of the car.

"Axel, please—" he tried to stop me again.

"Bye Roxas," I cut him off and slammed the door closed.

Roxas followed after me, quickly jumping out of his car as well. He raced up to me as I hurried up my walkway. Once he caught up to me, he grabbed my wrist. I instantly pulled away from him.

"What do you want from me?"

"I want to talk this out!"

"There's nothing to talk about," I repeated. I turned my back to him.

"Axel, we're not gonna be able to get past this unless we talk about it."

I froze on the top step of the three leading to my porch. I turned on my heel to face him again. "I can't talk about this with you," I admitted. "Why don't you just go and talk to Riku about it?"

"Because this doesn't involve Riku!"

"Well, that's too damn bad because I'm sure as hell not talking about this shit with you." I turned away from him again.

"You're not being fair, Axel!" he called after me.

"Nothing's ever fair," I said back.

And that was the end of it.
