Disclaimer- I don't own avatar. This makes me very sad.
AN- This is my first ever attempt at fanfiction or anything like it so all reviews are welcome and will make me VERY happy. Even the really mean ones because they will hopefully tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Sokka's Inner Mind
They had been living in Sozin for a little over a week now. Their tiny apartment was in poor condition but all they had to do was look out of the window at all the beggars out on the hot streets to feel grateful for their poor shelter. Although cramped, leaky and rat-infested their living quarters were expensive. Everything was expensive in this vast city. The Fire Nation capital.
For this reason and also so as not to arouse suspicion they had all taken jobs in the city.
"Waiter, can I have some more tea please?" Sokka growled in frustration as he turned to face the table of giggling girls. From the quality of their clothes he guessed rich giggling girls. He had to school his expression to act as though he wasn't basking in their admiration. He had already been reprimanded by flirting with the girls. Fire Nation girls he reminded himself and mentally gave him a slap round the face with a fish.
A fish? What's with the fish?? Does my entire life focus on food? Well, probably. Mostly. Hmm, it's been some time since I've had a really good barbed pinefish. I wonder if there's anywhere in Sozin that I can find some good pinefish? Somewhere they do it perfectly, with the spines stewed lightly in a sea-prune sauce and the delicate pink flesh served with seal jerky and the dark green ginmoss that was so hard to find and grew only in the rock crevices of his home but was the only thing in the world that tasted so good! I really love pinefish…and ginmoss…and sea prunes…I miss home!
Sokka was suddenly snapped out of his food-induced reverie by a delicate cough.
"Er...Lee? Are you alright?" it was one of the girls; they were looking at him confusedly. He blinked rapidly, realizing that he had been standing there practically drooling for over a minute musing about home-cooked food.
Stupid Sokka! Stupid Sokka! Stupid stupid stupid!
AN-So? Tell me what you think!
