The coma theory and more: being a fan of creepypasta i have of course read "the coma theory" in which ash is in a coma and has dreamed the entire events of his journey. Having little evidence to support it, here's how i think it and other creepypasta's should be written.
He was standing once again in Indigo Plateau but this time as a winner, all of his friends cheering from the sidelines as he stepped up to take the trophy, his eyes watering as he lifted it above his head. He first saw the signs of something strange over by misty, dawn, may, and iris. They looked almost washed out, like a poorly drawn image. He shook it off as just fatigue. He had been working very hard over the last two years with his old team to get to the point where he figured he'd be ready to re-challenge the Kanto league. He noticed it next by Pikachu as the little rodent ran up for a hug from his mother, a thin wavy like line, sort of like the thing you'd see in a desert mirage. Then he heard a voice, coming from the stands as Gary who was sitting there with professor oak disappeared as if he'd never been there at all.
"Wake up, please wake up."
He looked up at his friends, now even more blurry as if someone had smeared them with an eraser. What was going on? No one else seemed to hear the voice, or notice the strange wavy lines which as he looked to the stands had erased half the people there.
"hello again Ash."
He turned to see someone he had not seen in a while, Mewtwo with Mew floating beside, Mew looking more serious than he'd ever seen him.
"What's going on?" he asked as he looked around, now finding himself in a black space, with not even pikachu beside him.
"i think you know Ash, as you have always known. You are dreaming. You have been for some time, and now the dream is coming to a focal point."
"Then that voice?'
"Is the real world calling to you."
Ash nodded sadly, he had wanted so badly for it all to be real but he'd noticed for some time that things just weren't right, like how he was always in the right place to help legendary pokemon, or people, or even how often he ended up stopping the evil team of the region he was travelling in "Will I remember this if I stay?"
Mewtwo looked somberly at him "It's your dream kiddo, that means its as real as you want it to be. If you chose not to remember this then you won't, simple as that."
"And if I go."
"Then you'll be in the real world with real pain, real emotions, real experiences." Mew told him
"Then I chose..."
He opened his eyes to a white room, a machine hooked onto his chest was monitoring his breathing.
"He's awake! Thank god! They said you'd never wake up, but I had faith. You just lay back and relax now buddy while I get Nurse Joy."
"Pikapi, kachu."
As he watched his new trainer leave the room Pikachu reflected on his choice, was he right to come back to the real world where he was just some pokemon?
End
I hope i kept the twist secret till the end. Now i truly believe that there isn't a lot of evidence to support the "Ash in a coma" theory. But what if it was Pikachu, and not Ash that was knocked out by the massive amount of electricity he used? It would explain why he never ages, why he is always in the right place at the right time and why he always trades out his old pokemon for just pikachu when he goes to a new region. I mean I know their friends, but common don't you think it'd be better for him to keep his old, better trained, more experienced team and maybe rotate out when he catches new pokemon? And yes i do plan to continue this as a full story, just imagine all the trouble you'd get from an inexperienced Ash and an experienced (at least from his dreams) Pikachu. what would the dream world be like compared to real life?
