"I sang with you." Santana spits out from her place on the floor in front of the the auditorium stage. Brittany purses her lips and crosses her arms, trying to defend herself from Santana's onslaught.

Her words pierced right through her armor anyway.

"I sang my heart out. It's still all over the floor of that damn choir room." Santana whispers, her voice soft and Brittany's heart sinks to the floor.

"San—" she starts but Santana shakes her head and Brittany shuts her mouth. She only watches as Santana stands and looks at her with sad eyes and starts away.

She feels the black haired girl slipping away from her. Brittany's arm reaches out and intertwines with Santana's at the elbow. Santana turns to look at her with tears in her eyes.

Silence. There's silence between them for a few moments before Brittany's mouth open to speak. "I love you too. It comes down to you and me."

Santana's arm drops and for a moment Brittany thinks that she's being left behind. But her arm doesn't fall forever. Soon, Brittany feels her pinky being grabbed by Santana and her dark, depressed soul lights up as if someone turned on the light.

They're connected so deeply, so meaningfully through the smallest limb in their bodies, yet there isn't anything that can break them apart.

And so, with a kiss, their connection is sealed.
