"Tobias?"
Somebody is calling my name. That's all I can process. My eyelids are as heavy as sandbags and the light from the nearby window blinds me. A figure stands above me, and I can tell because they're blocking the sunlight.
"What?" I say, but it comes out sounding more like a croaking frog.
"Get up! We're going to breakfast!" Christina.
Her dark, short hair is parted out of her face. She looks down at me, slightly impatient.
"How'd you get into my apartment?" I still sound like a frog.
"Oh, just some old Dauntless tricks," I could hear the smile in Christina's voice. I rubbed my eyes and forehead and sat up straight. "Get up!" I look down and notice I wear nothing but boxers.
"Can I change?"
"Yeah," she said. Christina fled into the kitchen and closed the door to my bedroom behind me. I climbed out of my navy blue sheets and stepped onto my pure white carpet. It's still odd to wake up without Tris next to me. I can caress her and live a vigilant, yet happier, life. Instead, I got a big smack in the face. I still overcame it.

Living in the fringe was strange. All these words I didn't know. There were stores with peculiar names, like a "Wal-Mart" or "Target." But now as I think harder, living with factions was strange. It was strange how we were categorized like we were color coded. We lived in this world where labels and names were everything. One choice defined us. Now I live in this world that would seem odd then, but now it's the norm. I thought as Christina, Evelyn, Zeke, and I rode in the truck to Macy's - a food place. Matthew, Caleb, Peter, Cara, and Shauna said they would meet us. Just like a family reunion. One family that as been through hell, love, hatred, and confusion all at the same time.
As we walked into Macy's, everyone else were already here. Probably because of me.
I was greeted by smiles and waves and chatter. I looked around. I saw Shauna in her wheelchair with her bright, happy face. I saw Caleb, who I forgave eventually, sitting next to Peter. I saw Cara pull up a chair near Caleb and Matthew. Zeke was talking with everybody else. Evelyn took a seat and smiled at me when she saw me looking at her. Christina walks beside me and smiles. It's like she's reading my mind.
"It's funny how we don't realize how lucky we are until tragedy," I say.
Christina nods. She grabs my hand and says, "Come on, lets make the most of our lucky lives," and pulls me toward the crowded table.

Hey :) I hoped you liked this mini prologue. If you haven't read Allegiant and plan to read this fanfic… Well, I'd hate to say it but I'm not responsible for you reading these spoilers :) Shall I continue? Well, I am anyways. Also follow my Instagram and Wattpad. The usernames are both Shatterthedivergent. Okay… enough with the shameless self promoting. What else do I have to say?
Oh yeah - I don't own the Divergent Trilogy!
