Yuffie Kisaragi stood in front of the entrance into the pagoda, staring at the abundant army of Wutainese warriors in awe. Yuffie knew there was only one person in Wutai who can alert this many ninjas in such a short time. She turned around, and there directly across from her sipping from a small cup in his hands was Godo Kisaragi, her father. The young ninja closed her Auburn colored eyes and deeply inhaled the musky stench of the pagoda.
She wished her father wasn't so reluctant to just let her go, that once she opened her eyes, he would be somewhere else, unable to make her decisions for her. She let the air escape through her lips slowly as she opened her eyes, hoping that somehow he actually had disappeared.
Apparently not.
"Yuffie," Godo spoke as he put his tea down to the side, "you're not going." He spoke with such authority and confidence in his voice, as if expecting her to follow his orders. But no matter how much power he had, even Godo knew that he couldn't control his daughter.
"Are you being serious?" Yuffie whined as she flailed her arms above her head and stomped across the room to her father, decreasing the gap between them. "Zack disappears, and you turn Wutai into a tourist attraction!" Yuffie stated.
"Your point?" Godo questioned looking directly into the eyes of the young girl before him. 'No…' He thought to himself. 'I've forgotten that she's grown now'. He choked on his words, but there was no point in regretting them now. The argument had to go on. "This Zack fellow isn't of our concern, if anything he 's probably dead like Vincent suspected."
"He can't be dead if there is no body! And what about Wutai? This place used to be great until you reduced it to nothing more than a circus!" Yuffie spat back, carried away by the heat of the conversation. Her face was flushed, colored red with anger as her eyes had widened, glaring intensely at the man before her. There were times where she was ashamed to call him her father, this being one of those times. She turned around and took off, leaving a surprisingly motionless Godo behind.
Yuffie had sprinted out of the pagoda doors and headed towards the throng of soldiers, leaving a trail of tears behind hr, shining like crystals in the afternoon sun. The armor clad soldiers were braced for impact as they saw the Wutainese princess charging towards them but instead all they could do was watch as the petite figure seemingly disappeared right before their eyes leaving behind a piece of scrap paper.
"Sir!" One of the Wutai soldiers called as he rushed into the pagoda. He kneeled on one knee and continued his report. "We found a note that princess Yuffie left behind, we thought you should have look." He finished as he handed the piece of parchment over to his leader and proceeded out of the tower.
"Vincent…" Godo whispered as he gave the note a look over. The crimson cloaked bodyguard stepped out of one of the shadowed corners of the pagoda, stopping beside Godo, just barely missing his tea. "Take a look at the note she left." Vincent grasped the note with his gloved hand delicately and read the words silently to himself.
"I want you to follow her, Vincent." Godo ordered with just a hint of worry in his voice. Vincent didn't object, or more like he didn't want to object. He dropped the aged piece and let it float until it settled on the rim of the now cold green tea. Instead of seeing Vincent out Godo stared at the note with pure consternation, reading the words inked into the paper one last time before it was soaked by the green liquid.
