Hi everyone! I know I should be working on One Weird Saturday, but this popped into my head and just had to be written. Please tell me what you think!
Disclaimer: If I owned Kingdom Hearts, Seifer and Hayner would have much more screen time because they're totally worth it. Seeing as they don't, however, you can assume that I do not, in fact, own the rights to Kingdom Hearts.
The Secret Princess
There is a beautiful princess living in this town, and nobody knows it but me. She is always surrounded by her noble friends, and often intermingles with her subjects. Now, one must remember that she is indeed a princess, and so she acts like such. If something doesn't go her way, she's liable to throw a fit, and if her pride or merit is in question, she will send out the entirety of the royal guard to rein hell on your poor soul.
In her kingdom, I guess I would be considered a bad peasant, one of the kingdom's most wanted. All because I question her the most, raise her temper the most, and all too often I win. But I can't help it. I can't change the fact that she's cute when she's mad. I can't stop my heart from jumping each time she glares at me. Yes, I'll admit it; I'm in love with Twilight Town's resident princess. But what can I do? I'm a mere peasant, and she's a princess. She's looking for a prince to whisk her away on her Happily Ever After. Who am I to stand in her way? To tell her that there is no such thing as a Happily Ever After? I am just a lowly, misbehaving peasant. All I can do is watch my princess shine as she walks away with my Happily Ever After in her camouflage pocket. I'll watch her faithfully as her Prince Charming comes and steals her from me. And though I will break from the heartache, I will watch her still. For she will always be my Secret Princess.
"Very good, Seifer," my English teacher said as he handed me back my A+ assignment. "Ever since you found this muse of yours, your writing has been incredible. You should show this to her. I'm sure any girl would love to have something like this written about her," he said with a sly smirk. I laughed half-heartedly and put the paper in my backpack. How was he supposed to know 'she' was actually a 'he'? The bell rang. School was out.
Later that day, at the sandlot, Hayner and his friends walked through on their way home. "Hey, Princess!" I called. Hayner instantly whipped around with a glare.
"What the hell, Seifer! Why do you keep calling me that?!" he shouted with a huff. I chuckled and my smirk widened.
"Because you respond to it, Princess!" His friends held him back as he made to charge me. I simply laughed condescendingly.
"C'mon, Hayner. Let's go home," Olette said, pulling him along until he complied. I watched them walk away and felt my expression soften. Always watching.
A/N Just a little one shot. Please review! It makes me happy. And a happy me writes better and faster. So tell me what you think, please!
