I recently became determined to write a drabble. As a writer of epic fanfiction, I have always had respect for writers who can do drabbles, but the skill elludes me. What I ended up with was a body of ficlets mostly too long for drabble-length but shorter than even the usual length of my rare short fics. Some are connected to my Rediscovered Hearts AU and some are just random. So I'm just going to post each one separately because there's no rhyme or reason to them so it doesn't make sense to do a "collection".

Sometimes when she's tired, she comes to
his office. They sit sipping bad coffee and talk, usually about something other
than work. The SGC absorbs so much of their lives that it's a relief to talk
about other things—Cassie's grades, Daniel's broken garbage disposal, the
squirrels living in her chimney. Both of them rely on those moments, times when
there isn't an alien disease to cure, or wounds to stitch up. It's hard for her
to watch the teams come and go through the Gate. It's hard for him to leave
knowing he might not come back. So, they take their moments, and when the
moments end, he regrets the things he hasn't said.
