It was early. The sun was just barely lighting the sky. The light was chasing away the dark, leaving lavender streaks in its wake. Brittany loved watching the sun rise every morning. She loved to see the colors spill out across the sky and stain the clouds with different colors, just like cotton candy. She wanted to reach up and pluck off a small tuft of it and place it on her tongue to see if she could taste the sugary hues as it melted on her tongue.
She sat on the windowsill, watching the sky and daydreaming of her sugary sweetness as she ran rose petal over her bottom lip. It was like velvet on her skin and very calming. The sensation mixed with the sweet fragrance always made her warm and tingly inside, like there was a tiny flame in her belly. Just like when Santana would run her fingers across her lips before a kiss. Roses always reminded Brittany of Santana. They are both vibrantly beautiful. The picture of grace and romance with thorns that scared people away.
Brittany glanced over at the bed to see the smaller girl tangled in the sheets, lost in sleep. Santana was not a morning person but Brittany didn't mind. She loved watching as Santana slept. Hearing her soft breathing and if she was close enough, the beating of her heart. It was the only time when Santana didn't have to hide behind a mask of thorns. She was peaceful and serene as she stayed wrapped in her warm sanctuary.
Brittany loved this Santana the most. She would snuggle up right behind her. Santana's skin was hot against Brittany's and she loved it. She let the heat sink into her body as she took in the sweet smell of Santana's hair. It wasn't long until Santana rolled over, and wrapping her arms around Brittany's slender waist and placed a warm kiss on her lips. Brittany was hypnotized by the taste of Santana's lips and smiled as she pulled back slightly. A moment passed before she felt herself being pulled close again. Santana kissed her deep, hugging her tight to her. Santana's tongue explored Brittany's mouth and Brittany forgot all about her cotton candy clouds and the flower petals left on the sill.
The taste of Santana's mouth and the feeling of her arms wrapped around her tight was better than any other sensation she had ever felt. Brittany closed her eyes and sank into the kiss, letting her body fall into the curve of Santana's. Santana let out a hum oh happiness that tickled Brittany's lips, earning a small giggle. Brittany wished that everyone could see this Santana, instead of the one they saw at school. Santana is not a bad person. If people could focus on her beautiful petals and not her thorns, maybe things would be different. Until then, Brittany would be there, cherishing Santana's beautiful rose petal kisses.
