Okay, okay. This one isn't especially for V-day but I'mma post it today 'cause I can't have finished stories sitting around unpublished. I know it's kinda short, but meh. I didn't feel like making it too long. ;D KUTAU FTW. They aren't as great as Rimahiko, maybe not even as cute as Amuto, but they'z still awesome... :3
"You know there's another ramen place in town, right? Theirs is just as good, and they haven't changed it a bit…" Kukai said to Utau as they walked out of the restaurant, disgusted because they'd changed their recipe.
She sighed, she didn't really care. She was focused on the problems she'd had with the record company and them trying to change the way she sings… it was a lot of pressure. But hanging out with Kukai made her forget about all of that. He was like a best friend. He was a best friend. A little part of her hoped that maybe they could be more than just friends. But she still missed Ikuto and wondered when he would come back.
They walked down to the new ramen place, walked in, and sat down at a table.
"This... isn't a date. Right?" Utau said, part of her hoped it was, another part of her didn't want to get caught up in any kind of love... it would just be more pressure.
"No, of course not. Unless... you want it to be." Kukai told her.
"Uh, do you want it to be a date?" She asked.
There was a pause as he thought about what to say. Should I tell her the truth? Or... just lie and pretend like this never happened. We could be... so much more. But I don't want to pressure her into anything if she doesn't want it... So he answered truthfully. "Yes."
"Then... okay. It's a date." She said, secretly surprised that he wanted it to be, but she didn't show it. "But don't think this makes us a thing!" She said in her usual harsh voice.
"... Alright then." He said, a little scared of her now.
They ordered, and ate in silence. When she was finished, she slid her bowl away from her and buried her face in her hands, worn out from the stress of everything.
"I can't... take it anymore. It's just too much to deal with." She mumbled.
Kukai didn't answer, her just waited. He knew how she felt... she was going through a rough time right now, but there's always a light at the end of the tunnel.
"Utau." Kukai said, getting her attention, snapping her back to reality.
"Yes?" She answered.
"You're upset." he stated the obvious. "But people like you. People are looking forward to your next single. And some people..." he glanced away while saying this, "are looking forward to the next time they'll be with you. And, I want you to know, that when you're over this... when you're not upset anymore, there'll be people lining up for you."
Utau thought he meant just fans, people that have liked her music since she began, no one she knew...
"People you're close to, people that... would like to get to know you better." He got closer to her, looking her in the eye.
She started laughing. "Wanna give me some names?" She looked in his stunning green eyes and knew...
He leaned in, cupping her face in his hands, and their lips crushed together. When he pulled away he said, "I think you'll know" with a charming smile.
Kawaii. And yes, I stole that last little part from Grey's Anatomy, but I love it... so cute. :3 I just figured it fit, so I altered it a little bit and BAM. XD Soo... R&R~~
