WOW, I'm on a roll today. DISLCLAIMER-Not mine, as always.
Why I Prefer Blondes
A Creative Writing Piece by Derek Venturi
For as long as I can remember I've preferred dating blondes. There have been a couple of odd dates in which I chose a brunette, but my most serious relationships have been with blondes. Over the past couple of years, I've found that the saying "blondes have more fun" is true. Take my stepsister Casey for example. She has almost always been completely uptight, and finds it hard to 'live a little.' She studies and does homework for fun, who does that? Now that she's dyed her hair a slightly lighter color she's learned to take more risks, have a little more fun… with that awful Truman kid. She was late to class once because of him, completely irresponsible for her prompt self. Why does she do that, why does she change for other people?
Blondes also have a certain shine to them. I choose to link it to the lightness of their hair; blonde hair tends to have a certain sparkle to it that other colors don't. Although Casey's hair can be quite shiny, especially when she curls it just a bit. From the blonde hair that I've touched, it is also almost always soft. Whether it's wavy or straight, blonde hair has always been soft to the touch. I remember having a habit of touching Kendra's hair constantly, ever since she recited that line about hair from that poem she was working on with Casey.
I almost fell in love with a blonde named Sally. Her hair almost sparkled in my eyes; it was always shiny, touchable and perfect. Unlike Casey's hair, her hair wasn't always perfect, like the time I made her late to school and she had to wear my clothes and didn't get a chance to brush her mane. Sally also seemed to be perfect; she was kind, funny but I suppose she was a bit demanding, something I didn't expect from a blonde. Now I'm a bit glad she had to go, she had started to change me too much.
In conclusion, for the most part, blondes are fun, and laid back in demeanor. Their hair is unexplainably shiny, smooth and almost golden. Sure Casey's hair happens to be all of these things, but it's not blonde. So I wouldn't like to date her. She's a brunette that may have similar qualities to the blondes I've dated, and her hair may be lighter now, but no, she's not a blonde. She's smarter than a blonde.

Derek, this essay was very scattered. There was a lack of focus and consistency, and you strayed from your original topic. I've suggested you for a meeting with Paul Greeby, our school guidance counselor to discuss your thoughts and prevent any further interference in your grades. Please try to stay focused in my class.
