The Dream to be Hokage

Poem

They said I was a monster.

What is a monster?

They said I should know.

No one likes monsters.

They said things when I couldn't hear.

I could see their eyes.

They told me things I didn't understand.

I wish I still didn't.

But dispite it all I had one dream.

"Someday I will be Hokage!"

I listened to things that made no sense at the time.

And now I don't care.

Now everyone sees me.

Clumsy. Class-clown. Dead-last.

They tell me I'm stupid.

And I am.

But there's one thing I remember.

"Takes one to know one!"

The girls always argue.

What is a monster?

They said I should know... and I do.

Now.

It takes a monster to recognize another, after all.

Every single one...

They said I was a monster.

So that makes this a village of monsters.

I will be Hokage, for I hold the greatest monster in a village of them.

They said I was a monster.

It took a monster to show me that.

Kyuubi had the right idea.

To destroy this village from the inside out, that is what a true monster would do.

I would hate to fail in their expectations.

They said I was a monster, but first I must be Hokage.

END.

I'm sure this idea has been used before, but I was feeling angsty when I wrote it. You can read first all normal font, itallics, or all at once as it goes on. It still makes sense, to me anyway.
