Soujiro walked to the west, going on a quest for Shishio. He was halted by bandits. He killed all three with a slash of his sword.
'Why do I kill? Then smile about it afterwards?' he pondered he sighed and kept walking. After a little while he decided that it was getting late he decided to take a nap.
DREAM:
A young woman walked through the streets of the town in a fine kimono, surrounded by guards. She wore a silk white kimono with sakura petals on them. With a glance anyone could say that she was rich… she was the daughter of the town mayor. She had long black hair and blue eyes.
A boy rushed through the streets holding a bucket of water in one hand; he came to a sudden stop. His bucket of water flew through the air and all the water fell on the young girl. She slipped and fell.
Strangely enough she didn't get angry she began to laugh. Still the young boy was grabbed by the guards and taken to the mayor's house.
The girl came and explained to her father what had happened and all the while he couldn't take his eyes off her. She was beautiful…
END
Soujiro woke up and began walking again all the while pondering his dream. 'Why that dream after such a long time?'
He decided to put it at the back of his mind. The next night…
DREAM:
A young boy walked along a path of stone. Cherry Blossom trees were at both sides of the path, he finally got to his destination.
"There you are!" a young black haired girl says, she runs and hugs him, they both smile at each other. The young couple sit against the cherry blossom tree.
"Make me a promise…" she says.
"Anything," he replies.
"Always smile…" he says.
He sighs she's asked him this millions of times. "I will," he says "for you."
END DREAM
Soujiro sighs, gets up and keeps walking. The next night he has the continuation.
DREAM:
"Soujiro!!" a man comes rushing to the young boy's house. "What is it?" Soujiro asks calmly. "It's Maya!" the man says "there taking her away!" "WHAT?!" Soujiro says grabbing the man's collar. "People are taking Maya away to a far off palace to get married," he repeats.
The boys drops the man and runs towards the girl's house. He sees a carriage with Maya in it and runs after it. "MAYA!" he yells. She can't hear him…
END DREAM
Soujiro wakes up he can feel tears on his face "I won't cry," he says aloud to himself "For you I will smile." He says drying the tears a smile on his face.
