A/N: Hello again, everyone. This idea also came randomly into my head. It hurts when I type because of a cut on my fingy..Haha. So here it is. Post finale, Maiko. Thanks to Silvereyes12 to all the wonderful encouragement! Enjoy!

Inspiration: I was trying to think of little titles I could use for a nice one-shot, so I thought pick a word, any random word...And then I was like That's IT!! Words. So here it is, my one-shot/Maiko called Words.. Short and sweet.

Disclaimer: I don't own Avatar.

It had happened early in the morning when Zuko had woken up for his day of Fire Lord nearby in the city.

"Zuko?" Mai asked drowsily, looking outside her door. Zuko waved to her.

"Gotta go, bye!" he had replied...He woke up late.

Now his full day of solving disputes was almost over. And Zuko felt as guilty as ever.

She could've really needed something, and I just left like that. Hmm. She'll probably forgive me, but I can't just expect that. Poor Mai...

Sure, it was irrational to think like that. Poor Mai? Nah, not really. Mai loved being on her own, just doing her own thing. And the only thing she loved more than that was doing her own thing with Zuko at her side. Meaning it wasn't a big deal, but still. He couldn't help but think about it.

"May I go?" Zuko asked one of his volunteers.

"Of course, Fire Lord! May we call you if something goes wrong?" asked another volunteer named Shen-Lee.

"Of course, Lee."

"Goodbye for now, Fire Lord Zuko," the doorman said.

"Bye Ty!"

Zuko walked the streets, a bit frantically. As he passed people, some waved and others bowed. He bowed back and waved and smiled. It was nice how happy people were when their was peace. Their were even people here from the Water Tribe, and Fire Nation, although most Water Tribe citizens were busy rebuilding their homes. Zuko also had people helping them out, too.

Finally, he arrived at the gaang's home. He sighed at the sight of it. Home. Where everything he'd ever need was.

Zuko opened the door and looked in. He heard voices downstairs and knew they were doing their casual. Playing board games.

"I'm home!" he called. He waved to them downstairs, and Mai walked up.

"How was your day?" she asked, curious.

"How do you think?"

"What do you mean?" she said, her eyes taking on a curiosity and worry.

"Guiltily."

"Why ever are you guilty, Fire Lord?" she joked.

"Mai, you know what I did this morning was wrong. And-"

"This morning?" she said, a quizzical look cast at Zuko.

"I should've come in and asked you what was wrong, kissed you goodbye, and not run out like a chicken with it's head cut off. I should take my girlfriend before work, and I do, but-" he was cut off.

"I know you do, Zuko. Don't worry about those little things, I mean really. I was just saying bye, that's all. And you're Fire Lord, Zuko. If you're late, you may anger some people."

"But-" Cut off again.

"Zuko, stop the words. I understand! It is not that big of a deal. Silence is beauty," she said. He smiled and looked at her.

They sealed the silence with a long kiss.

A/N: How'd you like it? Cute little one-shot? I just think this'd be how Zuko loosens up. Worrying about stupid things, then going back to himself.
