Chapter 1: Worry
Midnight came and went on the first night without us realizing how late it was. It seemed like one minute it was 11:00 PM and James and I were sitting on the couch with Harry in my arms putting him back to sleep and the next it was 1:00 AM and time for James and I to sleep.
I crawled into bed as he finished putting enchantments on the house. I set my wand by on the night stand in an easy access place in case I would need it in the night. James got in bed next to me and raised his wand, "Lumos," he whispered and the lights went off.
I closed my eyes trying to sleep but could not. I had so many fears about what could happen tonight. All Dumbledore told us was that we needed to go into hiding for the safety of Harry but nothing more than that. James had put more than a dozen protection spells and we had Sirius over for dinner every night so James wouldn't try to be too reckless and risk out safety. None of this seemed to me like it would work. We needed a miracle or something to protect us.
