"maybe we should go on a world cruise? " jez's voice floated from the kitchen to the lounge. she sighed, resting a hand on her aching. forehead. "I don't like boats. or water" she said coldly. Jez came out of the kitchen and looked at her.
"what?... I never knew that about you?..." he said sadly. Sian managed a fake smile. "mmm..." she said under her breath. Jez looked hurt and confused. Sians eyes glistened with tears, she looked down at her feet. "I'm sorry...I'm so sorry jez... I... I can't do this... " she said quietly, under her breath. jez looked at her. "what? " he said, not completely hearing her.
she stood up, picking her bag up and walked over to the door.
"I said, I can't do this anymore!" she said, tears falling from her eyes.
"Sian? you can't do what?" he said close to tears.
"I can't be here..with you...it's not right... it's not you that I love...it's..." she stopped, words getting caught In her throat as she cried. Jez shook his head, not believing this was happening. he laughed as he let the tears fall from his eyes.
"Michael?" the one word broke a piece of his heart off, crumbling into nothing. Sian lifted her gaze to his and nodded slowly .
"yes, it's Michael. it's always been Michael." she replied before opening the door and leaving. He sat down and let tears of hurt, betrayal and humiliation fall "How could she?" he thought to himself.
That's why, twenty minutes later, Sian found herself stood outside of his house, looking like a panda. she clenched her fist, bringing it up to the door, hitting it twice, letting some frustration out on it, hitting it harder than needed. A few minutes later the door was open, he was there and her tear stained face was on show to him. He looked at her concerned. there she was, the strong woman he loved, a wreck on his doorstep..."Sian?" he said. she walked in and broke down in tears before looking up to meet his gaze.
"I... I've done it... " she cried. he walked over to her and pulled her into a hug, resting her head on his chest. he rubbed her back in what he hoped was a comforting motion.
"you've done what? Sian, whats happened?" she looked up at him and he wiped her tears away with the pad of his thumb.
"I've finished with Jez... " she sniffed back the tears. Michael pulled her closer, holding her tightly. "it's for the best... you never loved him... not really... " he whispered into her ear. Sian looked up at him.
"I know. because he wasn't you...it's you I love... it's always been you Michael... " She said, her brown eyes never leaving his, full of unshed tears. Any further responses were cut off by his lips crashing down on her red glossy ones. she kissed him back passionately, looping her arms around his neck, his resting on her hips. he pushed her back up against the wall of his lounge, and placed his hands on her bum. he pulled back from her lips and looked into her eyes, resting one hand on her face, stroking it with his thumb softly.
"I love you Sian Edwards..." he said softly, the last time he had called her that she had instantly corrected him, but this time, she handnt. she replied.
"I love you too Michael Byrne...I always have" she said, rejoining their lips.
