Best Birthday Ever!
Danny's POV
Ben burst into the flat "Surprise!" everyone yelled for Riley but he came home alone.
"Has anyone heard from Riley?" Ben looked really panicked. Everyone stared blankly at him "I lost her on the subway, I've got to go look for her." he ran out.
I followed Ben into the hallway, shutting the door behind me. "I knew this would happen! This is exactly why I didn't want to tell you!" I was so angry my hands were clenched into fists and my whole body was shaking.
"What are you talking about?"
"She's too good for you. You don't deserve her!" I was yelling at him now.
"Then who does deserve her?" Ben still looked confused.
"…I do." I told him quietly "Ben, I've been in love with Riley since I was 10 years old when she first climbed into my treehouse." my eyes fixed on the ground the whole time.
"Is that really for you feel?" Our heads whipped around at the feminine voice behind us.
Riley.
"Riley…how long have you been there?" I asked her nervously.
"Long enough" Riley stepped closer "Is that really how you feel?" she repeated, taking another step forward.
I took a deep breath It's now or never Wheeler "This may be the stupidest thing I have ever done." I closed the distance between us, pressing my lips firmly against hers and grasping her hips.
After a few seconds Riley pulled away, instantly I feared that I had made a huge mistake. Before she wrapped her arms around my neck as mine found their way around her waist, pulling her impossibly close to me.
"Best birthday ever" Riley whispered before connecting her lips with mine again.
