Waking up in the middle of the night wasn't unusual for Megu, especially when it was due to her heart condition. What was unusual, however, was waking up beside a certain black-winged doll.
"Wh…Suigintou…?"
Why was Suigintou in her bed…? Mind still groggy, she mulled it over a bit. Ah, now she remembered! After persuading Suigintou to move from her perch on the windowsill to the bed (which was no small feat), Megu had started singing that song for her. But, she had barely finished the first verse when she felt her eyelids drooping…and then felt nothing, as her mind drifted off to sleep. It seemed the same happened to Suigintou as well.
Even after all the time they've spent together, it was rare for Suigintou to be in such close proximity, and Megu decided to take advantage of it. Gingerly, she reached out and stroked the doll's lustrous, silver hair, and placed a light kiss on her forehead.
"Sweet dreams, Suigintou…"
